Administration
https://proactivebookkeeping.com/wp-admin
This is where you add/edit content. On the left hand side are the major admin sections. In particular you care about “Posts”, “Pages”, “Appearance”, and “Categories”

Overview:
This is a CMS – content management system. The look and feel is controlled thought templates or themes. This means that the look and layout can be radically changed by choosing a different theme. You can change the theme in the “Appearance” section of he Admin page.

There are several entities that you should know about in order to understand the layout of the site and how it works.

Pages
Are important documents that will make up the main content of the site. Those links at the top are pointing to pages.

Posts
Are less important documents that are like a blog post. You might post about an upcoming event or article about some recent grant thing or whatever. Posts show up on the “News” page. Frequent posting will help your google page ranking.

Categories and tags
These are sort of labels that are attached to your posts. Categories can have hierarchy. Certain themes will use categories as a navigational aid to the site. Tags are sort of general labels that aid in searching. Bottom line – you, or we, should at some point standardize on some categories and labels so the site has consistency and good navigation.

Play around with the site, and I’ll work with you until you are comfortable with it.
